HAP BEACH CLEANUP

Join the Human Access Project's three-beach cleanup the morning of The Big Float. Help “unrock” beaches and clean them up. Then enjoy The Big Float for free.

Volunteers will meet at Tom McCall Bowl at 8:00 am. Then you will be directed to one of three beaches - Poet's Beach, Audrey McCall Beach, or Tom McCall Bowl Beach. There will be rocks and debris of every shape and size for all ages.

THE BIG FLOAT VOLUNTEER ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

All volunteers will get 1 food voucher and 2 beverage tickets as a thank you for donating your valuable time to help this great cause!

Event Set-up:
9 am-10 am
Assist with setting up the event (ie: hanging signs, moving tables, putting linens on tables, helping set up the bar etc).

Route Chalkers:
10 am – 12 pm
Help chalk the parade route with fun and colorful art.

Registration:
10:30 am – 2:30 pm
Check in floaters, make sure waivers are signed, take payments.

Valuables Check-in:
10:30 am – 2:30 pm
2:30 pm – 6:30 pm
Help floaters check in their valuables and bags.

Big Float Party:
10:30 am – 2:30 pm
2:30 pm – 6:30 pm
There is a lot going on! Please help us ensure the after party runs smoothly. This role has a variety of options:

  • VIP Tent Monitor: assist with maintaining the vip tent and bar area. Ensure that only VIPs are allowed entrance.
  • Tube inflation assistance: help floaters pump up their tubes with our generator powered pump.
  • Slip n' Slide Monitor: help kids have a fun, safe experience.
  • Life Jacket Decorating Station: help guests make their life jackets fun.
  • Event assistance: help with various task such as trash removal, line management and fill in where needed.

    These positions are first come, first served. We appreciate the help!

 

Floater Assistance:
12:30 pm – 2 pm
Help people get into the water safely and quickly. Assist with wayfinding and answer questions.

Line entertainment for the parade:
12:30 pm -2 pm
Entertain people while they are in line to get in the water (and on the water)! Jugglers, magicians, stilt walkers, musicians welcome.

Safety Boaters needed (kayaks, canoes, motorboats, jet skis).

Flyer Distribution prior to event.
